Southern Tabuk District dominates 2023 City Athletic Meet

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Southern Tabuk District(STD) is this year’s Tabuk City Athletic Meet overall champion, taking home more than a hundred medals.

During the 3-day City Meet from March 9 to 11, STD was able to secure a total of 193 medals from the combined tally of the elementary and secondary categories. This is according to the Final and Official results obtained from the Department of Education – Tabuk City.

Of the said figure, 97 are gold, 58 are silver, and 38 are bronze.

Gaining the overall second spot is the Northern Tabuk District. This district bagged a total of 134 medals – 53 gold, 45 silver, and 36 bronze.

Eastern Tabuk District, on the other hand, ranked third with 48 gold, 80 silver, and 36 bronze medals.

Meantime, Western Tabuk District hauled 16 gold, 22 silver, and 17 bronze.

Special citation such as the cleanest, orderly and eco-friendliest delegation was given to the STD and WTD.

The different districts received their respective awards and trophies during the City Meet and Division Festival of Talents 2023 Closing and Awarding Ceremonies in Bulanao on Sunday afternoon, March 19.

Athletes who won in the city meet will be sent to represent Tabuk City in the incoming Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association(CARAA) meet this April. Said competition is tentatively set in Baguio City.
