SP approves P18.6-M supplemental budget for CoVid-19 vaccines, freezers, food packs


Tabuk City, Kalinga - Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of this city recently approved over PhP18.6 worth of fund for medical expenses in response to CoViD-19 under Supplemental Budget No.1.


The august body approved said First Quarter 2021 Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the city during their special session held today, April 14, at Laoagan Resort, Bulanao.


Based on the summary of expenditures, the maintenance and other operating expenses include PhP10 million for Drugs and Medicines Supplies Expense, PhP60,000 for Medical, Dental and Laboratory Supplies Expenses and other Maintenance and operating expenses amounting to PhP8,250,600.

It also includes office equipment amounting to P50,095 and Medical Equipment worth PhP250,000 under the Capital Outlay.


Chairman on Health and Sanitation Councilor Atty. Ivan Yannick Bagayao explained that the request for the approval of the mentioned budget will be specifically provided for the purchase of CoViD-19 vaccines, freezers, food packs, among others.


“The request for funding amounting to P18 million has provided 10 million for the purchase of vaccines, P60,000 is for freezers and refrigerators. In the project design, P8 million is for the food packs, breakfast, lunch, and dinner appropriated for the constituents isolated to the isolation unit,” he said.



Meantime, Councilor Atty. Zorayda Mia Wacnang through the Committee on Health and Sanitation requested for a validation and clarification on some queries regarding the vaccination being conducted by the City Health Office (CHO).


“May I request the Committee on Health to ask the CHO regarding the number of people who are vaccinated and do they have a schedule on who will be vaccinated because there are senior citizens who are asking,” she said.


“And do validate the information that people are not willing to undergo vaccination, so I think there is a lack of IEC or explanation as to the effect of the vaccine. And that the vaccines that were given by the Department of Health (DOH) to the local government were returned because nobody is willing to take the vaccines.Those are the information that I, personally, as the member of the Sanggunian would like to validate,” she added.
