SP Tabuk grants 2-month payment relief for Dagupan Public Market stall lessees

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The city council of Tabuk granted a two-month rent relief to the vendors and stall lessees in Dagupan Public Market following a request from the group today, November 25.

In a letter sent to the Office of the Sangguniang Panglungsod dated November 19, Dagupan vendors and lessees are asking for a four-month payment pardon for stalls they are renting as the pandemic and lockdowns have affected their income making it difficult for them to pay their rent.

“We earnestly request your good offices to make a resolution that grants us pardon of our lease payment for at least four months. This is to give us a chance to recover from our business losses,” said the group.

SP Tabuk, during today’s council session, cited that they had already granted the stall lessees four months pardon last January to April this year, and that they can only give them another two months, November to December, as they expect that the city may return to normalcy by next year.

“Ag-dawdawat dagiti vendors tayo iti four months pardon kadagiti rent da ta siguro awan naglakwan da. Inpalawag mi kenyada kadwak da attorney Kristian, Bal-o ken Sakayle. Itadta, dinamag ko ni mayor ket nag-kari iti 1 month laeng. Ngem datayo nga kokonsehal, aproban tayo ti 2 months ta naikkan da met iti four months idi January to April this year. So kasla naka-six month dan,” Councilor Castor Cayaba said during the deliberation.

Cayaba likewise recalled that the vendors in 2020 were also given three months amnesty.

The city council then granted the Dagupan Tabuk Public Market vendors and stall lessees another two months payment relief starting November to December.
