Ilagan, Isabela - A 26-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed straight into an oncoming truck along the road in Rugao, Ilagan on Saturday, June 15.
The victim was identified as Leymar Bautista.
Police investigation revealed that Bautista was on the road and was speeding while on board a Suzuki motorcycle when the incident transpired.
Due to the speed of his vehicle, the victim lost control and ended up in the other lane where he was hit by the oncoming Isuzu truck.
Bautista sustained severe injuries from the collision resulting in his untimely death.
Meanwhile, the truck driver, identified as Lorimar Lugo, was brought to Ilagan Police Station for further investigation.
When questioned by the police, Lugo said he tried to avoid the victim’s vehicle when he saw him enter his lane; however, Bautista was too fast and he had no time to prevent the crash.
He will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property if the matter will not be settled amicably.
