Super RHU begins construction in Brgy. Agbannawag, Tabuk City

Agbannawag, Tabuk City – A fully equipped health center that will cater to the medical needs of the residents and its neighboring barangays is soon to be erected in Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City.

Said edifice shall rise at the barangay hall site in Purok 3, Agbannawag.

When erected, the healthcare center will serve the populace of District 4 in Tabuk city namely, barangays Agbannawag, Malalao, Lacnog and Nambaran.

The health unit is expected to provide comprehensive and primary health care services such as proper consultations, laboratory tests, and treatments that people need and deserve.

Super RHU

The construction of the two-story Super Rural Health Unit (RHU) building started in December 2022 and expected to be completed this year.

The project was funded by the Department of Health - Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) with P10 million for the facility's construction and P5 million for medical equipment.

Doctor Hazel Sarol of RHU - Agbannawag said the city local government unit provided additional funding for other materials needed for a better healthcare facility.

“Daytoy ket agbalin ti isu nga pinaka-health center tayo nga complete with delivery room, dental, fully equipped laboratory, and x-ray services. Dakkel a nga makutulong daytoy kabarangayan tayo,” Doc. Sarol said.

What is HFEP?

HFEP is a program of DOH that aims to improve public health facilities by constructing new and upgrading and rehabilitating existing public health facilities across the country such as barangay health stations, rural health units/urban health centers and Local Government Unit hospitals.

The program assists in enabling government health facilities in providing affordable quality care and specialized treatments. By strengthening the health system through HFEP, it can contribute on ensuring delivery of health services towards achieving health-related SDG targets.
