Suspect behind ambush of soldiers in Abra granted bail


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Alyas ‘Klar or Lenie’ who was tagged as one of the suspects behind the ambush of soldiers in Abra was granted bail for her temporary freedom.


The Cordillera Peoples Alliance announced that Klar’s petition for bail was approved by the Regional Trial Court in Abra on February 7, 2023. Her bail was fixed at P100,000.

The suspect who is a native of Kalinga was charged with rebellion and was arrested by the authorities in Baguio City on January 30.


Klar, 49, was accused to be one of the people behind the ambush that killed two soldiers on October 27, 2022, while they were on a disaster response operation following the 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Abra.


The suspect was ranked by the Philippine National Police Cordillera as No. 12 in their list of Periodic Situation Report on Threat Groups(PSRTG) in the 3rd quarter of 2022.
