Suspect in a shooting incident in Sta. Teresita Cagayan arrested

Sta. Teresita, Cagayan – A 41-year-old man suspected of shooting and injuring another man in Sta. Teresita, Cagayan was arrested Sunday, October 16 following a hot pursuit operation.

The victim identified by police as ‘Alyas Ronald’ was able to reveal the identity of the suspect while he was being ferried to Alfonso Ponce Enrile Memorial District Hospital in Gonzaga, Cagayan. This enabled the police to conduct an immediate hot pursuit operation.

The suspect arrested was identified by police as ‘Alyas Kenneth’, married, a resident of Barangay Centro West, Sta. Teresita.

Initial investigation said the victim, along with his two friends, was having a drinking spree in front of a store when the shooting incident happened.

While the drinking session was ongoing, the suspect on board a motorcycle suddenly stopped near them, got off his motorcycle, and shot the victim in his stomach before leaving.

After being notified of the incident, Sta. Teresita Police immediately responded and ferried the victim to the hospital.

A bullet waste from a caliber 45, meantime, was found at the crime scene. Charges shall be filed against the suspect.
