Swimming area in Benguet’s Amburayan River temporarily closed after fatal drowning

Atok, Benguet – The swimming area in the Amburayan River in Pasdong, Atok, Benguet was temporarily closed for visiting individuals and residents following the fatal drowning of a 27-year-old man on Saturday, December 9.

 

Police said the victim who was a resident of Daclan, Bokod was in Pasdong, along with his companions to attend their friend’s wedding.

 

After the wedding, the victim went on a drinking spree with friends.

 

In the morning, the group proceeded to the swimming area in the Amburayan River.

 

While swimming, no one noticed that the man was drowning. It was already late when his body was retrieved.

 

The victim, whose name was kept, was brought to the Benguet General Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.


Said area remains closed until further notice.
