Tabuk City, Kalinga – Female cops in the city, in contrast to their supposedly tough form as law enforcers, display grace and poise during the Search for Miss Tabuk City Police Station Laggunawa 2022 that culminated the celebration of Women’s Month this year.

The pageant was conducted at the Gochus Place in Barangay Bantay last March 30 – 31, 2022.

Police Lieutenant Jean Pacia, the Chief of the Community Affairs Division at Tabuk City Police Station, said that 34 policewomen, including their two officers have participated in the event. Competed categories during the Search she said include Best in Swimwear Attire, general office attire, and a question-and-answer portion.

“This activity is to empower beauty through advocacy and to strengthen public advocacy in support of the observance of the 2022 national women’s celebration. It primarily seeks to provide due recognition to the roles of policewomen as builders of good relationship with the community,” she said.

Police Corporal Melody Mosing also relates that the Miss TCPS Laggunawa 2022, showcased the talent and skills of the policewomen, who are usually perceived as law enforcers.

“A pageant has an impact on women empowerment because it gives a platform for the ladies to be heard on a different level … then … nakikita lang nila na ang PNP especially women ay taga pagpatupad lang ng batas pero meron din silang natatanging talent and skills na pwedeng i-showcase,” she conveyed.

Winners were crowned and awarded a cash prize.

During the month-long celebration of 2022 Women’s Month, the Tabuk City Police Station has conducted an all-female checkpoint, traffic direction, and serving of arrest warrants which are normally done by the male police.

Moreover, they initiated awareness lectures, clean-up drives and tree planting, Zumba for the Balik Alindog program, and a blood-letting activity.
