Tabuk City, Kalinga – "I am not disqualified; I did not withdraw,” these were the words of Attorney Errol Comafay as he attended the unity walk for peaceful elections, dismissing rumors he was out of the May 2025 polls.

Accompanied by his wife, Comafay who is running for city councilor in Tabuk City is one of the political aspirants who attended the Unity Walk and Peace Covenant signing for the 2025 National and Local Elections on Monday, March 24, in Dagupan Centro.

Said event which was initiated by the Commission on Elections, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police, and the City LGU included a prayer rally and signing of the peace covenant at the Tabuk People’s Gym after the unity walk around Dagupan.

Apart from sealing his commitment to peaceful and orderly polls, the lawyer and anti-corruption advocate hoped his presence in the activity dispelled talks about him being disqualified to run for the May 2025 local elections.

Said information about his supposed disqualification from the elections came from a news article published in February this year, saying he was out of the race.

Comafay earlier called the article “misleading and intended to deceive voters of Tabuk City”, assuring he is an official candidate for the May 12, 2025 polls.

“Their invitation and my presence during the event should dispel and end all rumors and misinformation that I was disqualified or withdrew as a candidate. I am NOT disqualified. I did NOT withdraw,” Comafay asserted.
