Tanod in Cagayan shoots self over cancer diagnosis

Camalaniugan, Cagayan – A 62-year-old man of Casili Norte village in Camalaniugan, Cagayan who shot himself to death is the latest suicide case added to more than 60 incidents in the province – the highest in Region 2. The data was from last year to date.

The local police believe the victim decided to end his life after learning he may have prostate cancer.

His wife was in the kitchen at that time when she heard a gunshot from their bedroom. She rushed to their room and there, she saw her husband bathing in his own blood.

The bullet penetrated the victim’s neck, causing his immediate death.

The police recovered one caliber colt .45 pistol with one magazine loaded with three live ammunition and a shell.
