Tanudan athletes eye for more medals in 2025 Prov’l Athletic Meet

Tanudan, Kalinga – This year’s Tanudan delegation is eyeing for more medals in the upcoming 2025 Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet.

For two consecutive years, Tanudan brought home the overall third spot. In 2023, the municipality collected 42 gold, 29 silver, and 40 bronze medals while they hauled 49 gold, 26 silver, and 31 bronze medals in 2024.

Designate Information Officer and Executive Assistant to Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, John Ryan Awingan, informed that the Tanudan delegation this year is composed of 201 athletes and are readying to give all that they got to level up their ranking.

Awingan added that the Tanudan Municipal LGU has been supportive to their athletes for the biggest sports gathering in Kalinga, saying that the players are under intensive trainings.

In a statement, Mayor Dagadag encouraged the athletes to take the Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet as an opportunity not just to display their skills and sportsmanship, but also to learn from the other athletes coming from other municipalities.

While they are there to compete for a spot in the 2025 CARAA meet, the local chief executive reminded the players to enjoy the provincial meet and to socialize with the other delegates.

“Apart ken dagiay medals, iti maysa nga kasayaatan nga maiyawid yu ditoy provincial meet ket diay nag-enjoy kayo ken nakaam-ammu kayo iti baro nga ga-gayyem nga nagapu kadagiay daduma nga ili,” the mayor said.
