Tanudan athletes selected and to start training for 2025 Kalinga Provincial Meet

Tanudan, Kalinga – A new set of athletes representing Tanudan in the 2025 Provincial Athletic Meet have been selected following the Municipal Meet from December 11 to 14, 2024.

Tanudan is known for combative sports with national athletes hailing from the said town. Olympian Hergie Bacyadan is one of those known athletes.

Following the event which was held at the Biga Elementary School and Biga High School attended by four elementary and five secondary schools, the promising players who displayed their skills and sportsmanship, earning a spot in the delegation, will be representing the town to the Kalinga Sports Festival next year.  

In a message, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag commended all the athletes who played for their respective clusters, whether they won or lost, for having the passion and courage to cultivate their skills in sports.  

“Congratulations kadagiti ubbing tayo and coaches nga nangabak ditoy municipal meet. Kadagiti haan napagasatan nga mangabak tatta, haan tayo kuma maup-upay nu di ket ipapati tayo latta nga agpraktis ken ag-training para next year,” he said.

The mayor added that the Local Government Unit fully supports its athletes and that he encourages the winning players to start preparing for the 2025 provincial meet.

It could be recalled that Tanudan collectively earned an impressive 106 medals, consisting of 49 gold, 26 silver, and 31 bronze in the 2024 Kalinga Athletic Meet held in Rizal earlier this year.
