Tanudan, Kalinga – The bridge linking the center of Tanudan to its upper barangays, as well as connecting the circumferential-provincial road of Taloctoc and Mangali to the national highway is now 100% complete and passable, helping reduce travel time in the said places.

Mayor Jaedicke Ross Dagadag said that the bridge located in Banagao, Poblacion, which was finished last month, would significantly benefit the people in Upper Tanudan specially that they are set to implement various projects, which would mean they will no longer be allotting budget for manual hauling.

“Mayat a ta limmag-an ti panag biag ti Upper Tanudan, dayta ti as-asahan da karu diay panag-implement da ken dagiay projects da ket dakkelen ti nabawas. Nu diay manual hauling na lang ket dakkel, isu ka pay a maikkat diay manual hauling na mainayun nga abante na diay project a maikabil idiay,” he said, adding that manual hauling would usually cost almost 20% of the project.

“Ket siyempre nalakan ta umas-asidegen ti concreting ti kalsada idiay, pati idiay Lubo ket asideg mga 4 kilometers na lang ket makadanunen idiay ti kalsada. Mas napaspasen ti travel time,” Dagadag further said.

It could be recalled that to ensure faster construction of the project, the Municipality of Tanudan and its officials with the Department of Public Works and Highways in Kalinga had an earlier dialogue with the contractor to ensure its immediate completion. Moreover, Project Engineer, Valentino Dagadag and staff were hands on and continued monitoring the construction of the Dumanay bridge until its completion.

Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang initiated the sourcing of funds from the General Appropriation Act 2020. The Dumanay bridge is part of the P100 million funding for the 2.2-kilometer road improvement of the supposed development of National Road from Banagao to Lubo to Barlig, Mountain Province and Banaue, Ifugao.

“Permi pasalamat ti MLGU Tanudan ken congressman ta maysa ti Tanudan nga ipapa-prioritize na kadagiti pagsayaatan a development,” Mayor Dagadag expressed.

Through the Dumanay bridge, there is now an alternate route from Tabuk to Banaue.
