Tanudan, Kalinga adopts former DSWD Asec. Peñaflor as daughter ‘Idonsan’

Tanudan, Kalinga — Former Department of Social Welfare and Development Assistant Secretary Rhea Peñaflor was officially adopted as daughter of the Municipality of Tanudan, receiving the name ‘Idonsan’ this October 26, 2022 at Banagao, Poblacion.

Peñaflor, who is now the Chief of the Party of the YouthWorks PH, a non-government organization, is known for having helped the municipality many times in the past. She is described as a one-call-away person who extends aid in any way she could to Tanudan.

She was among the people who sent immediate assistance to Tanudan during the flash flood in Lubo on August 13, 2022.

To officially adopt her as one of the yTanudans, Sangguniang Bayan members Grace Dagadag, Johnny Liddawa, Hearthy Ao-at, and Clayton Ballay sponsored Resolution No. 2022 – 068 which was unanimously approved by the august body and Municipal Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag on October 25.

Through the said resolution, Peñaflor was officially welcomed as a daughter of Tanudan during the Indigenous People’s Month in Tanudan this Thursday, where she was invited as the Guest Speaker.

The former Asec. Was given the name ‘Idonsan’. Idonsan is a lady character in Kalinga epics with mesmerizing beauty and an outspoken personality. Indosan was the community’s favorite.
