Updated: Sep 26, 2022

Tanudan, Kalinga – With a desire to expand their facility and provide more space for people deprived of liberty (PDL) in Tanudan, the LGU, through Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, donated a lot for the construction of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in the municipality.

This was relayed by the mayor in an interview with Guru Press Cordillera on Thursday, September 22.

“Nagi-donate tayo ngay diay Banagao iti lote para iti jail ta nagbassit met ti jail tayo idiay municipal police station ket kasdiay adda ti inted tayo nga portion ti daga nga bagi ti munisipyo idiay Banagao nga ayan mismo iti Municipal site,” Dagadag narrated.

BJMP Cordillera acknowledged the initiatives of the Municipal Government Unit to set up their jail building in Banagao Municipal site as the current jail cannot accommodate more PDLs, and they do not want their PDLs to be ferried and add congestion to BJMP Tabuk.

“Tapno met a nu adda ti balud tayo ket haan da unay aglilinipit ditoy ayan ti BJMP Tabuk ta tao met lang met dagita nga uray nu nakabalod da ket adda met kuma ti bassit nga waya-waya da met a haan nga diay aglilinipit da isu nga kayat ko nga adda ti BJMP na diay Tanudan,” the mayor explained.

The Tanudan mayor expressed his gratitude to the BJMP-CAR for their support in allowing the putting-up of a jail building in the municipality.

Additionally, Dagadag conveyed his continuous support to the BJMP and his willingness to help as long as the Municipal LGU can provide. With his support, Dagadag was recognized by the BJMP-CAR during their 31st Regional Anniversary on September 19, 2022, at New Town Plaza Hotel in Baguio City.
