Tanudan LGU mentions lack of rescue vehicles affecting prompt response to emergencies

Updated: Jun 21

Tanudan, Kalinga – One of the immediate needs in Tanudan includes rescue vehicles that would be on standby to cater any emergencies on the ground.

While it is a necessity, the Tanudan Local Government Unit’s limited Internal Revenue Allotment could not cover them.

It is for this reason that the LGU, through Resolution No. 2024 – 285, requested for funding for the procurement of 16 rescue vehicles to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. through Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr.

The LGU explained that the lack of rescue vehicles in the 16 barangays in the municipality affects the swift response in times of medical emergencies and rescue operations during disaster and calamity.

“The provision of rescue vehicles will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of barangay response to emergencies, thereby protecting health, safety, and well-being of residents,” the document reads.

On June 14, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag personally handed the resolution to Secretary Abalos during his visit to Tabuk City for the Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan(BIDA) Anniversary Celebration at the Kalinga Sports Center.

“Dakkel nga tulong para iti taga Tanudan daytoy rescue vehicles, ta daytoy ti maysa nga kailangan dagiti babarangays. Nu adda iti rescue vehicles, napaspaspas iti panagresponde tayo nu kaspagarigan adda kasapulan maitaray iti ospital, wennu adda aksidente ken kalamidad,” he said.
