Tanudan LGU opens use of 2 newly built Multi-Purpose Drying Pavements to support farmers

Tanudan, Kalinga―The rice and corn farmers of Sitios Ammaboy and Balicongcong in Tanudan now have their Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement to support their livelihood activities, especially during the harvest seasons.

Multi-Purpose Drying Pavements are now ready for use.

Since the production of agricultural crops is a major livelihood of the more or less 3,200 residents, the drying pavements will greatly provide farmers a more convenient way to dry their products, lessening their burden while reducing the risk of spoilage.

Both are the first Multi-Purpose Drying Pavements established in the municipality implemented through the 20% of Community Development Fund 2021 of the Office of the Municipal Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag amounting to PhP900,000.

The Multi-Purpose Drying Pavements measured at 22mx14m in Ammaboy, Layasan amounts to PhP400,000 while PhP500,000 was allotted for the 22mx15m pavement in Balicongcong, Dupligan.

Mayor Dagadag relates that the construction of the drying pavement was requested by the farmers considering that it had been a priority need to address their post-harvest operations concerns in the areas.

“Daytoy a naaramid a Multi-Purpose Drying Pavements ket dakkel a tulong ta mausar da a pagbilagan kadagiti produkta da, mais wenno irik tapno mailako da met nga insigida,” he expressed.

“Kas amin a request ti kakailyan nga yTanudan basta pagsayaatan ti barbarangay ited ko ti supportak kadagita nga awan duwaduwa na,” Dagadag added.

Dagadag likewise underscored the importance of establishing more drying pavements in each barangay to prevent the drying of rice grains along roads which may sometimes cause accidents.
