Tanudan Mayor Dagadag continues free wheelchair advocacy for PWDs

Tanudan, Kalinga – A 29-year-old Person With Disability in Tanudan is the recent beneficiary of the continuing advocacy of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag to provide PWDs with free wheelchairs in the municipality.

Mayor Dagadag has been doling out wheelchairs using his own money since 2020 as his way to support and ease the situation of those afflicted by debilitating conditions.

The mayor has already given around 24 wheelchairs as of this writing.

The recent beneficiary, Weigi Baggas of Pangol, Tanudan, received his wheelchair on July 30, 2022. He got his first wheelchair from Dagadag in 2020 but he was given another two years later after the first one was reported no longer functional.

Baggas said his inability to walk was inborn, and he is very grateful to the mayor for providing his need the second time.

Without the wheelchair, he said, he would only stay in his bed.

“Agyamanak ta makaruwar nak ken adda usarek nga mapan makisimba. Nu awan daytoy wheelchair nga inted ni apo Mayor Dagadag aagyan nak lang balay. Sala-salamat launay kin apo mayor,” he conveyed.
