Tanudan, Kalinga – Extending his services beyond Tanudan and Kalinga, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag joined the Philippine Army Reserve Force.

The local chief executive became a full-fledged reservist after passing and completing all the required processes and training to become one. Last February 16, John Ryan Awingan, Executive Secretary to the Mayor and Tanudan Designate Information Officer, said the Mayor is already a member of the country’s reserve force.

Reservists of the Armed Forces of the Philippines are back-up military force especially in times of crisis, war, or natural disasters. While they get to keep a regular civilian job, they are on call to provide support and assistance in relief and rescue operations during disasters, socioeconomic development, and provide support during emergencies, among others.

In a statement, the mayor expressed he wanted to join the Philippine Army as a reservist since he wanted to extend his services beyond Tanudan and Kalinga to other parts of the country.

“Kayat tayo nga agserbi haan lang nga ditoy ili tayo, ngem agserbi iti entero nga Pilipinas karkaru nu, haan tayo met ikarkararag, nu adda iti crisis, disasters, ken daduma pay nga pagkailanganan da kadatayo,” he expressed.

The mayor then calls on the youth who want to serve the people and the country to join the uniformed service, and help defend and protect what the forefathers fought for in the past to have this freedom the current generation enjoys.
