Tanudan, Kalinga – Mount Binaratan's serenity and tranquility highlighted the 4-day Kalinga Lumin-awa Trekking Adventure experience in Tanudan.

From February 7 to 10, around 131 trekkers took on the challenge to brave the route from Taloctoc to Mangali, Lubo, Gaang, and Dacalan.

The challenging trail, however, paled in comparison to the stunning and pristine views of nature and the hospitality of the villages. The breathtaking experience was further heightened when the hikers camped at Mount Binaratan, also known as the silent mountain, where they were enveloped by the place's peacefulness.

As described by one of the trekkers, Rayster Ramos, the ambiance of the mountain invigorated him and reminded him of the importance of taking some time off to connect with nature.

"My short experience at Mt. Binaratan left me feeling rejuvenated and connected to the natural world. It was a reminder of the importance of taking time to appreciate the wonders of the earth and to immerse oneself in the peace and tranquility of remote places like this silent mountain," he told GURU Press Cordillera.

With the success of the 4-day trekking adventure, the Tanudan Tourism Office acknowledged the Tanudan patrol base, the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Army, the Bureau of Fire Protection, Tanudan MDRRMO, Tanudan medical team, and Barangays Mangali, Taloctoc, Lubo, Dacalan, and Gaang for ensuring the safety and welfare of the participants.

For those interested in hiking at Mt. Binaratan, Tanudan Municipal Tourism Officer, Aurie Banson, informed that the mountain is open to hikers, but they should coordinate first with the Municipal Tourism Office and obtain a permit, which they will need to show at Barangay Dacalan. Without this document, trekkers will not be allowed entry.
