Tanudan youth celebrates ‘Linggo ng Kabataan’ in biggest gathering since pandemic

Tanudan, Kalinga – The youth in Lubo, Tanudan are set to show their talents and abilities in sports in celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan on August 27-29, 2022 at Lubo Elementary School.

The occasion is said to be one of the biggest gathering of the youth in the three barangays of Lubo since the pandemic in 2020.

To mark the event, the Sangguniang Kabataan of the three barangays – Babbanoy, Upper, and Lower Lubo collaborated in preparing various activities for the young people in their area as a means to provide an avenue for young people to boost confidence, improve abilities, skills, talents as well as instill camaraderie, support, and discipline among the youth.

Some of the sports activities included in their schedules are basketball, volleyball, badminton, laro ng lahi, scrabble, and chess - most of said events which were not allowed during the height of the pandemic.

Added to the sports is the Lubo Got Talent, where the youth will be showcasing their best performances. Part of the event is the Tiktok and Binungor Dance Contests.

A Socialization Night is likewise planned for traditional music and dances which include Salidummay, Ullallim, Tungali and Kullitong.

Upper Lubo SK Chairman Johnboy Latugan said that they initiated the activities to provide a platform for the youth in Lubo to bring out their talents and to practice their skills.

He added that the different events were also planned to improve the self-confidence of the young while highlighting Tanudan’s rich culture.

“This event will strengthen our bonding and camaraderie. We conduct this activity tapnu ma-exercise met dagiay skills and talents dagiay youth and tapnu maging active da in the community which is an important factor to nation building,” he said.
