Teacher with guns, ammunition arrested in Isabela due to expired firearms license

San Mateo, Isabela - A public school teacher was arrested by police on Friday, February 16, after various types of firearms and ammunition were found at his residence in San Mateo, Isabela.

 

According to a local media report, operatives from the Isabela Police Provincial Office, CIDG Isabela, Maritime Grp RMU2, PIU-IPPO, and San Mateo Police Station conducted an operation to serve the search warrant against the suspect identified as alias Nanding, 33.

 

During the search, authorities found guns and bullets at the suspect’s home. These include 1 unit Taurus G3C BLK 9mm loaded with eight live ammunition, 5 pieces of live ammunition of 12-gauge shotgun, and 116 pieces of live ammunition for caliber 9mm pistol.

 

Nanding and the confiscated evidence are now in the custody of CIDG Isabela for proper documentation and disposition.


He will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

 

With the incident, the Isabela police remind those in possession of firearms with expired licenses or unregistered to contact their office to avoid being arrested.
