Teacher returns cash lost by tricycle driver in Ifugao

Ifugao, Philippines – Honesty is one of the values educators emphasize to their students in school.

What makes it even better is when teachers, themselves, walk the talk like an educator in Ifugao who returned the lost cash of a tricycle driver in the province recently.

Teacher Carmelyne Taguiling of Cudog National High School found a black sling bag along the National Highway in Hucab, Kiangan last Sept. 20 while she was on her way to work.

The high school teacher didn’t hesitate and turned over the bag to Radyo Kiphodan 99.1FM. The bag contained a driver’s license and a wallet with P77,000 cash.

Owner of the bag, Nelson Bersamin already claimed his lost items.

Taguiling, meantime, earned praises for her honesty from netizens including Board Member Joselito Guyguyon who commended the school teacher, stressing her principle is worth emulating.

“Her act of honesty and resisting temptation sends a strong message for Ifugaos to embody,” the official wrote in his Facebook post.
