Teen knocked down by pick-up while riding bike, left with injuries on the road

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A young man in Tabuk City is currently recuperating at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital after he was hit by a pick-up truck on the night of August 11, 2024, in Dagupan Centro.

CCTV footage showed that the victim was on board his bicycle and was traversing the Daguitan Street on said date. Just as he arrived at the intersection on the Provincial Road, he turned left to head to the direction going to Bulanao when a truck traveling the same road and heading the same direction hit the bicycle.

The victim and his bicycle were thrown off some meters away from the point of impact.

Dagupan Centro Punong Barangay George Esteras who released the footage on his Facebook account said that the pick-up driver did not stop to help the young man. It was the passersby who rushed him to the KPH for medical intervention.

Esteras added that the police are currently investigating the incident.

As of this writing, Esteras said that the driver of the pick-up has yet to turn himself in to the authorities.
