Teenager molested for months, impregnated by own father

Cagayan, Philippines – A 17-year-old, who was repeatedly molested by her own father for several months in Tuao, gets pregnant, authorities said.

The Cagayan Provincial Information Office reports that the victim disclosed to the police that she was raped at their home several times for seven months by her 50-year-old father, alias Roberto.

The victim added that the assaults, which started in January, happened at night when everyone in the house is asleep, and whenever the suspect had the chance to do it. Her father also threatened to kill her if she tells anyone about the abuse to anyone.

Said assaults left the victim pregnant, and when she finally decided to tell her father’s partner, the latter didn’t believe her.

It was only when she went to her grandfather to seek for help that the rape incidents were reported to the authorities.

Moreover, Police Staff Sergeant Rose Castillo of the Tuao Police Station told Cagayan PIO that they are now looking for Roberto.

The victim is now with her grandfather. She is also undergoing counseling through the Tuao Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
