Teenagers steal CCTV camera at overpass in Baguio

Baguio City, Philippines -   Despite their purpose of deterring theft and capturing footage of criminal activity, cameras themselves can also be stolen.

An incident like this was recorded in Baguio City on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera was said to have been stolen by teenagers.

The suspects are at age fifteen and are residents in the city. Some of them are out of school youth.

Based on the reports from Baguio City Police Office obtained by local media, the crime occurred at O - Shape overpass where the CCTV was installed.

It was also the footage from the stolen camera that showed how the suspects destroyed its connection before taking it.

As a result of the investigation conducted by the authorities, the suspects were identified, but not yet arrested.

A theft case was already filed against them at the Baguio City Prosecutor's Office.
