TESDA-Kalinga trainees granted cash aid, equipment for income generation and self-employment

Tabuk City, Kalinga – For 15 Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) graduates to start generating income by applying the skills they acquired through the program, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) - Kalinga awarded baking implements to them this Saturday, August 28, 2021.


The set of the toolkits worth P150,000 given to STEP Bread and Pastry Production NCII scholars at the Business Engineering School of Technology (BEST) Inc. include measuring spoons, electric ovens, measuring cups, mixing bowls, and weighing scales.


Aside from the starter tool kits, Jennifer Galban of BEST shared the scholars have previously enjoyed several benefits of the program wherein each of them received P3,500 worth training, P500 internet allowance, and P500 Personal Protective Equipment Allowance therefore dubbed by TESDA Provincial Director Victor Brioso as a “complete package program.”


“Naggapu iti pondo ni Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, this is a complete package program iti TESDA, adda skills training na, adda pay allowance na then after this training, you will be given entrepreneurship training program on how to start you own business,” he said.


“Haan kami agsarsardeng nga mangtrain ti kastuy ta ti kuna da garud nga maysa , daytuy ket usaren tayu nga kangkanayun iti pagbiagan tayu haan nga kasla iti ayuda nga mammaminsan laeng nga mausar,” he added.

Brioso relayed that for this year, Mangaoang again funded the program and has sourced out another P6 million fund from Ang Probinsyano party list in his goal to continue helping yKalingas in generating income and become self-employed.


With said updates, the TESDA Provincial Director encouraged the graduates to start making their business to reach the goal of the programs they benefited at.


“Nagadal kayu pay iti entrepreneurship, ammu yun nu kas-anu ag-compute ti costing so with that skills, knowledge and experience sapay kuma ta adda metlang ti makita min tu nga progreso kanyayu because sayang met ti investment ti gobyerno nu nalpas kayu nagtraining, inikkan dakayu ti allowance,tools awan man lang nagbalinan na,” Brioso told the graduates.


They were also advised to know their market and deal with businessmen who are already engaged in baking business to effectively apply their learning.

To further motivate them, he shared an inspirational story of a friend who started only on frying doughnuts which eventually boomed. Subsequently, this friend engaged in baking more types of bread. His friend, he said, is now a manager of his multi-branch bakeries, having more than a hundred employees.

Also present during the event were Mr. Sammy Bayangan of the Office of the Congressman and Dagupan Centro Barangay Captain George Estreras .
