‘Thieves in Kalinga break in houses, shops bet. 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.’ – PNP data

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Burglars in the province usually break into houses and establishments between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., the Kalinga police observe based on data they collected.

Just recently, several netizens in the province have taken to social media about burglaries they experienced, showing their places and business shops being ransacked by thieves.

The alarming repetition of such crime, especially in Tabuk City, frustrates many small and medium-sized business owners who are favorite targets of burglars.

Kalinga Police Spokesperson, PCapt. Ruff Manganip said in an interview that while there appears to be repetitive ransacking of business establishments, there is no organized criminal group in Kalinga that could be operating the burglary. The acts, he said, were done by individuals or various unrelated thieves.

To counter the said crime, the police have increased their visibility and patrolling in the province, mainly in Tabuk City.

As to netizens posting on social media about losing their belongings and valuables to thieves, Manganip urged the public to immediately report cases of burglary, robbery, and other crimes to the police or to the barangay for them to be addressed.

“Dapat lang nga nu adda incident, nu addda madmadlaw da, tumawag da nga dagus iti PNP,” he said, adding that the people could also reach out to the force multipliers in the barangay.

Manganip further advised home owners and businesspeople to always secure their places and install locks that cannot be easily destroyed by burglars.
