THREEPEAT champions: Agbannawag Central School AGAIN dominates 6th Bodong Elem. Drum and Lyre contest

Tabuk City, Kalinga—Delegates from the Agbannawag Central School proved that they were not easy to beat as they claimed once again the championship of the Elementary Drum and Lyre competition, held this Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Kalinga Sports Complex.

 

Agbannawag Central School defeated four other schools in the province, capturing their third consecutive win in said contest since 2023. 

 

The team showcased their flawless execution, synchronized movements, and captivating musical arrangement that impressed the judges and audience alike. Their outstanding performance resulted in their score of 97.80 percent, making them the grand winner.

 

As the champion, the school received P100,000 in cash prize from the Provincial Government of Kalinga, headed by Governor James Edduba. 

 

Meantime, Rizal Elementary School clinched the first runner-up position with a 96.40 percent score, receiving P80,000 pesos. 

 

Bulano Central School placed second runner-up with a 95.80 percent score, bringing home P65,000, while Mabilong Elementary School of Lubuagan received P45,000 as the third runner-up for a score of 93.16 percent. 

 

Placing fourth runner-up, meanwhile, was the Saint Tonis College Incorporated with a score of 89.32 percent, receiving P30,000 in cash prize. 

 

All of said schools, apart from their cash prizes, were also given additional P10,000 each by Governor James Edduba, who led the awarding ceremony. 

 

Said event is part of the ongoing 30th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 6th Bodong Festival, which runs until February 23.
