‘Ti kurakot, han nga agbaliw dayta, nu bigat kurakot latta’-Atty. Errol Comafay Jr.

Tabuk City, Kalinga – “Ti tao, nu isu ti kababiyag nan, simple nga kababiyag nan, han nga basta-basta agbaliw…Diay kurakot, han nga agbaliw met lang dayta, nu bigat kurakot met lang dayta,” underscored Tabuk City Council aspirant, Atty. Errol ‘Comafight’ Comafay Jr. during a local radio interview aired on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

This is in response to a statement that Comafay might forget his purpose of running as a city councilor when elected.

Through the ‘Butos Ko! Iyun-un Ko!’ radio program of Gimpong Radio which serves as an avenue for the local candidates to voice their advocacies, Comafay affirmed that he will ensure the implementation of his platforms when given a chance to sit in his desired position.

This, he said, is because it has been his nature to do what is righteous, especially in his profession as a lawyer.

“Idi college nak ket nagrugi nak agsusuot ti pasiking inggana tatta nga abogado ak agsusuot nak ti pasiking ta isu bumagay ti katataok nga simple lang. Diay kurakot, han nga agbaliw met lang dayta, nu bigat kurakot met lang dayta isunga nu ammu yu nga korakoten ti maysa politician, han yu ibotosen…Apay nga di inbagak ti korakot, kasla maysa laeng ti mapanpanunut yu… awan innaganak a,” Comafay stated.

Why run as member of City Council?

When asked by the host as to why he is running as councilor and not as Vice-Mayor or Mayor, Comafay answered, “ta siak ket maysa nga abogado. Ti training ko ket panggep ti linteg. Almost 13 years nakun nga abogado ket diay nainayun nga padas ko bilang abogado ket mausar ko diay nga agpanday ti linteg nga makatulong ti ad-adu.”

Also, he stressed that among his top reason of joining politics is for the city government to have a check and balance.

“Nu gamin awan ti check and balance, haan ngay nga maadal nga nalaing dagiti ordinansa, programa nga plano isayangkat ti gobyerno. Ket nu adda ti check and balance, adda ti waya tayo nga mang-adal nu talaga met lang nga diay ti pagsyaatan ti umili, nu met lang pagsyaatan ti siyudad, nu baka met lugi ti siyudad. Baka met lugi ti umili kadagiti programa nga kayat nga isayangkat ti gobyerno,” explained the candidate.

He added that no matter who will be elected as the city mayor, the job of a councilor should remain to be the check and balancer body to ensure proper and just utilization of taxes being paid by Tabukeños.
