Tinglayan 4Ps need not travel to Tabuk to get financial aid

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of the municipality of Tinglayan continue to get their cash support from the program the easier way through the use of the Point of Sales (POS) kit device.


The service enables the beneficiaries to withdraw their money from the cards without having to go to the ATM machines in Tabuk City and queue up. The city is the only place where ATMs are.

When using the POS kit, the 4Ps recipients do not need Automated Teller Machines (ATM) as it can also perform like the said machine. It could help in determining the recipient’s balance however, it does not dispense money.


The use of said device which is more convenient and accessible to yTinglayan beneficiaries was introduced in the municipality last year.


To get the monetary aid, the staff of the Treasure Link Cooperative Society (TLCS), a partner since 2021 are the ones assisting.


4Ps only have to pay a minimal a service fee, according to Larae Lactao, Information Officer of Tinglayan LGU.

490 4Ps benefit from the cash withdrawal accessibility program


From August 10-11, 2022, 490 beneficiaries from said town were served through the use of the device.


During the first day, Lactao said 380 Pantawid beneficiaries from barangay Sumadel I and II, Mallango, Buscalan, Butbut Proper, Ngibat, Loccong, Belong Man-ubal,Dananao and Tulgao East were the first ones to get their aid.


On the next day, 110 4Ps recipients from barangay Bugnay, Tulgao West, Basao, Luplupa, Old Tinglayan, Ambato, Poblacion, Lower, Upper and Centro Bangad were served.

Status of 4Ps beneficiary in Tinglayan


At present, although there was no disclosure of numbers, PDO II Philip Macasieb of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development affirmed many families in Tinglayan have already improved in terms of their well-being status.


Macasieb added said beneficiaries are ready to graduate from the program after having reached the self-sufficient level - the highest level among the well-being categories.


To be considered self-sufficient, a household beneficiary must have adequate income at the time their children graduate, must be able to satisfy their basic requirements, and must have achieved the first two levels of the Social Worker Development Indicators - Survival and Subsistence.
