Tinglayan CDWs undergo training for improved promotion of children welfare and rights

Updated: Jun 23

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Coinciding with the annual Day Care Workers Week, the local government of Tinglayan conducted a one –day training for its Municipal Child Development Workers on Wednesday, June 19.

Instead of just a mere celebration of the event, the LGU opted for a productive activity, honoring the worker’s dedication on their jobs while also empowering them with essential skills they could utilize.

It was spearheaded by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) with Marilou Alngag – the dean of the College of Business Administration and Indigenous Governance serving as their speaker.

The training aimed at educating the daycare teachers on the preparation of necessary documents needed in the promotion of children’s welfare and rights.

Topics discussed included the preparation of minutes of the meeting, proposals, and request letters. Said topics are essential in ‘equipping them with skills necessary to seek and implement effective interventions for children's welfare.’

This year’s Daycare Workers Week anchored on the theme, "Building Bridges, Changing Lives: Honoring the Compassion and Commitment of Child Development Workers," is mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 404, series of 2003.

The annual event recognizes the significant and impactful role of day care workers in promoting children's rights.
