Tinglayan LGU conducts training on government financial transactions to increase efficiency


Tinglayan, Kalinga – Aimed at enhancing the financial transactions and operations of the Local Government Unit of Tinglayan, staff members in charge of documentation in various offices were trained last week on how to manage government financial transactions.


The training is expected to increase efficiency of work and encourage personnel to do better.


Said training, according to Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, is needed to ensure that government workers particularly those working in the municipal LGU are equipped with skills necessary in their fields to deliver excellent services for the people of Tinglayan.

During the training, the LGU’s Municipal Accounting Office equipped the participants with knowledge on laws and regulation on government expenditures and disbursements.


Supporting documents needed to back the report on funds being utilized were also discussed to them by the office in charge.


The accounting office likewise showed various presentations to the personnel which highlighted the importance of following the right process in every transaction. One which was stressed is the processing of claims, that, if it is followed it would result to a better and easier transaction.


In a statement, Judith Lungao of the accounting office pledged they will continue strengthening and improving financial skills and capability of their fellow government workers to deliver the best services to their clients – their fellow yTinglayans.


“…the 2-days activity was not enough but this is just the beginning of a cycle being planned by the department as a part of the department’s fiscal responsibility through capability building,” Lungao stated.

In a statement, Mayor Gumilab lauded the accounting office for their efforts in developing further the financial skills of their fellow personnel stressing that this will not only benefit the participant but also their fellow yTinglayans in need of their services.


“We, at LGU Tinglayan, will not stop in enhancing the skills and capabilities of our employees. We ensure that they are equipped with the proper skills and knowledge needed in their field, and that they implement up-to-date system and processes to deliver excellent services to the people of Tinglayan as we stand up to our battle cry, Tongrayan Umunno-unnoy,” Gumilab stated.
