Tinglayan LGU crowns its ‘Tongrayan Umunno-unnoy Ambassador and Ambassadress 2022'


Tinglayan, Kalinga –Jayrone Manallog and Kate Zairyne Bagay from Tinglayan National High School were crowned as ‘Tongrayan Umunno-unnoy Ambassador and Ambassadress 2022’ on Monday, December 19, at the Municipal Gymnasium in Barangay Poblacion.


Tinglayan LGU said the search aimed at encouraging the youth to actively participate in municipal government programs such as health, environment, peace and order, disaster resiliency, social welfare, tourism, culture, and arts.

As the municipality is beefing up its tourism industry, it has recently conducted several activities to capacitate its residents in becoming a welcoming community prepared to host visitors.


Winning said titles, Manallog and Bagay now take the roles in promoting the active participation of the youth on various government programs in the municipality.


Apart from the titles, the two won the ‘Best Tourism Video’ with 94. 71 points and ‘Best in Community Participation Video’ with 100 points.


Manallog was also conferred the ‘Best in Production’ with 91. 71; ‘Best in Indigenous Talent’ with 92. 89 points; and ‘Best in Recycle Formal Attire’.


The school they represented received P45,000 and both contestants got P 10, 000 cash incentives each.

Other winners


For other winners, the first runner-up was gained by Aphole Balutas and Ezekiel Busway of Sumadel National High School with a P51, 000 cash award; Trisha Mae Dangangao and Lester Bang-as from Bangad National High School garnered the 2nd runner-up, also bringing home the title, ‘Tourism Culture and Arts Economic Development Ambassadors and Ambassadress’ with P37, 000 cash award.


Cherryline Dogui-is from Southern Tinglayan National High School and Keygie Bomon-as from St. Theresita School were the 3rd runner-up with the title of ‘Social Welfare and Education’ and a P35, 000 cash prize while John Mark Agyao from Southern Tinglayan National High School and Jeanette Claire Ladiocan from St. Theresita School were the 4th runner-up with ‘Peace and Order, Disaster Resiliency’ title and a P13, 000 cash prize.


Minor awards


SNHS got the ‘Best in School Awareness Tour’ and ‘Best in Product Promotion Video’; and ‘Best Advocacy Speech Video’ was gained by Bangad National High School.


Further, ‘Best in Production’ and ‘Best in Indigenous Talent’ were received by BNHS for the female category while the female candidate from STS was conferred the ‘Best in Recycle Formal Attire’ and ‘Best Photogenic Award’.
