Tinglayan, Kalinga – Giving priority to building road networks in Tinglayan, the current administration of the Local Government of Tinglayan opened Monday, July 4 the 300-meter road going towards Barangay Belong-Man-ubal.

The road opening is expected to increase movement and ease mobility of goods and products translating to development in the area.

The road project was funded by the provincial government of Kalinga under the development fund of then Board Member Atty. Christian Pic-it.

According to the Municipal Information Office, the project amounts to P3 million. The recently opened road, they added, has a width of six meters.

Engineer Denver Alngag said that apart from the newly opened road, a 5,340-meter road is also opened from the junction national road going to Barangay Belong Man-Ubal.

In a statement, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab said that he is glad with the completion of the road opening as one of his flagship programs for road connectivity, saying that with the road networks in the municipality, government services will be brought closer to the people.

Mayor Gumilab likewise committed that he will find ways to deliver the long-time dream of Belong community for concreted road access until 2023.

“We commit to bring the road to the doorsteps of Belong people in the first quarter next year,” he said.

The mayor said that through building roads that connect all 20 barangays of the municipality, opening alternative routes, and creating accessible farm-to-market roads, Tinglayan District is not too far from realizing what he called, “Tongrayan Umunno-Unnoy” or a more developed Tinglayan.
