Tinglayan, Kalinga – In order to ensure the smooth conduct of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) and 2024 Census of Population in Tinglayan, a convening was held among focal persons of the local government unit and personnel of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Kalinga on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

In said meeting, PSA Kalinga provided an overview of the 2024 CBMS and called on the cooperation and assistance of the local government unit.

Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, who was also present in the meeting, committed his support to the conduct of CBMS survey, underscoring the importance of such activity in government planning.

CBMS is a tool that assesses poverty at the local level. It covers the collection of data from households, which serves as a basis for policymakers and program implementers.

The conduct of the survey this year utilizing CBMS was mandated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. last February as there is a need to update the list of Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, or 4Ps beneficiaries.

This shall also be utilized in the updating of the shares of the LGU in the National Tax Allotment (NTA) and the number of eligible voters in time for the upcoming midterm elections next year, among others.

This year’s survey will start in July and is expected to conclude this September.

In connection, the local government unit now calls on interested iTinglayans to apply as CBMS field personnel. Deadline for applications is May 20, 2024.

As posted on PSA Kalinga’s Facebook page, at least 18 field personnel are needed for Tinglayan municipality.

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their application personally at the Kalinga Provincial Statistical Office located at GLIMz Bldg.Purok 4, Balinag St. Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
