Tinglayan LGU pays out P7,840 each to their youth workers to help with educational finances

Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Local Government Unit of Tinglayan on September 1, 2021, started distributing the initial wages amounting to P294,000 for the 75 yTongrayan in and out-of-school youth temporarily employed from June to July this year to help with their education finances.


The temporary employment was made through the Special Program for Employment of Students and Out-of-school Youth (SPESOS) of LGU Tinglayan and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).


Municipal Information Officer Larae Lactao said that each beneficiary received P3,920 from LGU Tinglayan.


The remaining wages from DOLE will be distributed at a later date. Recipients will get a total of P7,840 for their services.

The youngsters were tasked to profile their populace, particularly youth and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and some were assigned to clean the compounds of Man-ubal Elementary School, Mallango Elementary School, and Tinglayan National High School, for 20 days.


Beneficiaries who are yet to receive wages are encouraged to personally receive their wages and are advised to bring their assessment form or certification of enrolment from their respective schools. The LGU reminded that they are strictly observing the ‘No proxy allowed’ policy.


Payout is until Friday next week, September 10, 2021.


Meantime, the youngsters are encouraged by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab to use their earnings wisely and utilize them well for their studies.


He also advised them to be diligent in their studies, underscoring that education is one of the key factors that makes people become successful.


"Iyulit ku manen nga imbaga kinyada, haan nak a nagbalin a mayor iti municipality of Tinglayan this young nu han ku impapati ti nagadal ken nu han nak nagbalin a lawyer. If they want to be a boss, employee, servant or beggar, they should exert effort to attain it, as they are the ones in charge of making their own future,” he expressed.
