Tabuk City, Kalinga – The local government unit of Tinglayan, led by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, was conferred six awards from the Department of Interior and Local Government for their exemplary performance in various governance areas in 2022 and 2023.

Mayor Gumilab, along with some LGU officials, personally received said awards on October 28, at the Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City. The awards ceremony coincided with the celebration of the 33rd Local Government Month Celebration.

One of the awards includes the 2022 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Award, as they were rated 85 which equates to High Functional Performance.

The award assesses the functionality and effectiveness of local ADACs based on existing issuances and policies; determines ADAC-initiated innovations, and best practices at all levels; creates an evaluation, and assessment platform; and recognizes effective, and performing ADACs. The award targets to improve the performance of the ADACs in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of anti-illegal drug activities.

For the 2022 Peace and Order Council Performance Audit, the LGU was regarded as functional, rated at 74.07 percent. The LGU’s performance levelled up in 2023 receiving a final mark of 93.71 or a high functional performance.
