Tinglayan, Kalinga – The 15-day lockdown in Tinglayan ended yesterday, December 21, 2020, but surgical or specific area lockdown starts today, December 22 for Sitio Sakwilig,

Lower Bangad and Sitio Atukab Luplupa.

Said lockdown shall end on December 31, 2020 but a possible extension may happen after assessment of the Municipal Covid-19 Inter-Agency Task force shows the need.

These areas are still critical as there have been sporadic recurrence of cases in Lower Bangad and consistent occurrence of isolated cases in Luplupa.

According to Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, said action was undertaken in order to contain the further spread of the Covid-19 virus in these areas.

The lifting on the other side is in consonance to the lockdown order of the Local Government of Tinglayan which started on December 6.

Mayor Gumilab during the interview expressed his thanks to his constituents for their obedience in following the rules and regulations of the strict implementation of lockdown protocols which contributed to the fast recovery of the municipality with regard to the containment of the virus.

“Agyaman tayu kada isuda ta pummati da ngay dagiti lockdown protocols ken minimum health and safety standards isunga napaspas nga nagrecover ti tinglayan,” he said.

As for returning residents and men in uniform, the mayor reminded them to follow the protocols in entering Tinglayan such as presenting negative results of their swab test, undergoing home quarantine when negative and staying in isolation units if found positive of the virus.

“Sumurot da kuma iti protocol nga sakbay nga sumrek dattuy Tinglayan, ipakita da diay negative result nga SWAB test da and then nu sumrek da dituy Tinglayan, alaen mi isuda idiay CARAA ground and then maipan da isolation, iswab isuda and then nu positive da. at laeast a-agyan da latta idiay isolation area and nu negative, diretso da idiay balay da agquarantine,” the mayor stated.
