Tinglayan mayoral candidates unite for fair campaign and May 9, 2022 election

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Candidates vying for the mayoral sit in Tinglayan local government unit walked in unity this March 22, 2022 and vowed for peaceful, secure, accurate and fair campaign and election.

The Municipal Information Office, in a press release, reported that all the other aspirants wishing to secure the vice-mayoralty to council members’ position, joining Atty. Sacrament Gumilab and Charles Abay, walked from Saint Theresita High School (STS) to the Municipal Tribal Gymnasium.

Speaking to the candidates after the ‘Unity Walk,’ Municipal Local Government Operation Officer challenged them to maintain a good relationship with their opponents for the campaign duration until the May 9, 2022 election.

Having been briefed with the COVID-19 protocols that shall be observed during the campaign period, the aspirants signed the ‘Integrity Pledge,’ committing to abide by the laws and the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, respecting the sanctity of elections, and rejecting without any reservation, the use of violence, force, or threats to influence the outcome of elections.

The event was duly witnessed by the Philippine National Police – Tinglayan, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Commission on Election, religious sectors, and other concerned agencies.
