Writer: Tinglayan LGUTinglayan LGU

Tinglayan, Kalinga – A house was built by Tinglayan police and Tinglayan municipal government to help a PWD and his family without permanent dwelling to have a safer place to stay.

The aid was provided through the housing program dubbed as “Pabahay Handog ng Kapulisan ng Tinglayan” whose purpose is to provide a better place to stay for poverty-stricken individuals or families who unable to put-up their own house.

The house was turned over by the police on Monday, August 1, 2022. Tinglayan police said Armazan Sad-ang, a 55-year-old and a totally-blind man living in the municipality, was chosen as beneficiary since he and his family have no permanent house to stay in.

Sad-ang was said to have sought the assistance of Tinglayan police earlier this year through Police Captain Luis Bulao, narrating his family’s difficult situation and their need of a simple place to live in as they cannot afford to put up one.

The police decided to help Sad-ang and his family, and on May 22, 2022 the construction of the house situated at Sitio Tangilig, Centro Bangad, Tinglayan, Kalinga started.

Tinglayan police collaborated with LGU Tinglayan headed by Sacrament Gumilab and some other stakeholders to make sure the project would be completed.

The LGU, according to Municipal Information Officer Larae Lactao, provided materials for the building of the house.

As for the relatives of the beneficiaries, they served as work force in the construction. As told by police, the project is in line with the 27th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month Celebration with its theme – “Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad Tungo sa Mapayapa, Maayos at Maunlad na Pamayanan”.

“The PNP’s Pabahay Project aims to give a decent house to indigent families in the community which provides an anchor, a refuge, and a place to dwell with the participation various government units and private sectors,” Tinglayan police stated.
