Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Local Government of Tinglayan is now pursuing barangay vaccination for its priority groups in its 20 barangays, hoping to inoculate 100 percent of its master-listed individuals.

The Municipal Health Office’s vaccination team headed to Barangay Tulgao on Tuesday, September 7 to vaccinate at least 50 individuals in the areas, following the success of the activity’s dry run at Barangay Bangad on August 26.

“Ti style gamin diay barangay vaccination ket agi-submit ti barangay officials nu manu diay nag-consent a mabakunaan. Tapos dapat na fill-upan dan diay consent form tapnu sure da for vaccination. Nu manu da a nag-consent sudan lang ti mabakunaan during diay barangay vaccination ket Tulgao nag-submit da ti 50 nga agkayat, so 50 lang ti mabakunaan tatta idiay Tulgao,” Larae Lactao of Tinglayan Municipal Information Office explained.

The focus of the barangay vaccination, she added, are A1 (health workers) and A2 (senior citizens) groups who have not yet received their vaccine.

She informed that 98 percent of the 292 individuals who are part of the A1 group are already inoculated, while for the elderly group, they have yet to inoculate the majority on its list for their first and second doses. A2 in Tinglayan is about 1,091 persons.

221 of those from the A1 group are fully immunized, while 40 await their second dose. For the A2category, 269 have already completed their doses while 83 just got their first dose.

Of this writing, 1,774 on the priority list are already inoculated, 260 for A1, 352 for A2, 875 for A3, and 27 for A4. Of said number, 1,329 are already fully immunized while 185 are still to receive their second dose.

As recalled, the municipality targets to attain herd immunity by vaccinating at least 70% of the total population of Tinglayan or a total of 9,500 individuals.

With regards to this, PHO-Kalinga said that allocation of the vaccines is based on the number of master listed individuals submitted by municipal/city governments units to their office.

For said reason, individuals prioritized are urged to visit their Rural Health Units for master listing and get vaccinated once their schedules are set.
