Tinglayan receives ‘Commitment Keeper Award’ for population and development initiatives; Gumilab commends MLGU personnel

Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Tinglayan has been committed to implementing population and development initiatives of the government which recently earned them the ‘Commitment Keeper Award’ from the Commission on Population and Development - Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD-CAR).

The town received the citation during the 2025 Search for the Outstanding and Yare Officers and Staff of the Year by the CPD – CAR held on February 11 in Tabuk City.

Mayor Sacrament Gumilab conveyed that the award is a morale booster to the personnel of the Municipal Local Government Unit who are working tirelessly to implement population and development programs and initiatives.

“Mayat nga mangi-boost iti morale dagiay tattao tayo daytoy award tapnu ipapati da pay iti trabaho da iti daytoy nga panggep iti population and development,” he said.

The mayor mentioned that they are encouraging the people in Tinglayan to only bear children they can take care and support.

“Tatta gamin ket adda tayo iti crossroads ngay ti traditional and new, makabago nga pananaw iti pamilya. Idi gamin ket open talaga iti dakkel nga families, ngem tatta in-introduce iti government iti family planning. Iti ien-encourage da idiay Tinglayan nga ti kayat na nga saoen iti family planning ket i-control da iti ubbing da – depende lang idiay kaya nga mangbyag iti pamilya, diay iti ibagbaga mi idiay Tinglayan,” he said.

The award, he added, is for the staff and people on the ground who are patiently explaining to the public about family planning.
