Tinglayan school gets 2 free rooms, funded and constructed by police and stakeholders

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Old Tinglayan Elementary School became one of the lucky beneficiaries of the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company’s (KPMFC) emerging best practice “Project Dos Manfaruwan” in partnership with other stakeholders.


Project Dos Manfaruwan backs the implementation of Executive Order No. 70, not only ensuring public safety but also providing basic services to geographically isolated areas as well as former rebels who return to the fold of the government.


Through the program, the school has a new library and a computer room which were turned over Thursday, July 18.


The completed rooms are a product of the collaboration of the police unit, the benefitting school, the local government of Tinglayan unit through its Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office, Engr. Max Duguiang III, Mr. Charlie Olinon, and members of the Company Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (CAGTPD).


The 2nd KPFMC team helped in constructing the buildings as well as provision of financial aid. Their partners, meantime, provided additional funding paving way for its speedy completion.


With said rooms, the pupils of said school have a facility that help them enhance their learning experience, thereby ensuring their growth for a brighter future.


In her message, Ms. Glory Ba-od, the School Head of Old Tinglayan Elementary School, expressed their utmost gratitude to 2nd KPFMC for spearheading said initiative.


While 2nd KPFMC did most of the work, the group credited the project’s success on the partnership formed, underscoring that it would not be successful without the help of other line agencies.


Coinciding with the turn-over ceremony is a tree planting activity, free-haircut service, and an information dissemination campaign on anti-terrorism and anti-bullying. A gift giving was likewise held, courtesy of Tinglayan Municipal Police Station.


The event was graced by Hon. Sacrament Gumilab, municipal mayor represented by Mr. Clemente Basing-at, PTLCOL Jacob  Dangpason, KPPO Deputy Provincial Director for Administration; Police Major Dominic Rosario, Acting Force Commander of the 2nd KPMFC, and PCPT Leonardo Ngaya-an, COP Tinglayan.
