Tinglayan, Kalinga – To shed light on the issues and concerns of Tinglayanos regarding electricity services, a dialogue is set to take place at the Municipal Tribal Hall on Thursday, July 27.

The dialogue was scheduled following a meeting between the Kalinga Electric Cooperative management and the local government unit of Tinglayan where several issues were raised by Tinglayanos concerning the services of the electric cooperative, one of which is the soaring electricity bills.

Apart from electricity bills, frequent power outages were also experienced in the locality, thus the need for answers from the cooperative about their poor service.

Some were also unaware of why some areas that were then served by the Mountain Province Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MOPRECO) are now under KAELCO. Some of the consumers want to just get back under the care of MOPRECO.

With the scheduled consultation, the local government hopes it would ‘result in improved KAELCO services and the consumer's performance of duties and responsibilities.’

“The activity is a venue for the consumers to air their issues and concerns, and on the other hand, for the KAELCO management to shed light on the issues and concerns being raised as they provide information on how the cooperative is operating with their plans and programs,” the announcement from the local government reads.

With this, the local government invites Tinglayanos to attend the dialogue saying the ‘public’s support and cooperation with the activity are much anticipated.’
