‘Together as one, Kalinga will compete in CARAA 2025’ - Balbalan Mayor Malannag underscores unity of athletes in regional sports fest

Balbalan, Kalinga – Following the culmination of the 2025 Kalinga Provincial Meet, athletes have been selected and shall be prepared to raise the banner of the province, attempting to push their previous ranking to a higher level.

Baguio and Apayao delegations have always taken the top two spots for some time now.

In a bid to encourage the athletes across the different municipalities in Kalinga and instill in them cooperation and team work, Balbalan Mayor Almar Malannag delivered a message to the athletes reminding them of a need to have one, united strong team in the upcoming CARAA meet.

“Agmaymaysa tayo dakayo nga athletes kuma, nu sino iti nangabak, agmaymaysa iti Kalinga nga mapan idiay CARAA,” he said.

Earlier, the mayor challenged the young athletes during the provincial meet to give their best shots in spite of the far distance between their billeting schools and the playing venues. Malannag told them not to be disheartened and discouraged, instead they should show that iKalingas do not just give up.

“Ipakita tayo nga ti taga Kalinga ket haan maupay,” he said.

Malannag who has been always vocal of his stance regarding youth support emphasizing the young generation is the future of Kalinga assured the young athletes he shall be with them in their journey to the upcoming CARAA meet which will be held in Benguet.

“Dakayo iti future nga leaders iti Kalinga. Isu nga ipapati yu, a-annak, adda lang iti ama iti Balbalan ken iti Balbalan LGU ditoy nga si-susuporta kadakayo amin,” he expressed.
