Too much alcohol kills: 54-yr.-old man in Santiago, Isabela died after excessive drinking

Santiago City, Isabela - A 54-year-old man in Santiago City, Isabela gave up the ghost after a drinking spree.

The man, whose identity was not disclosed by the police, was found lifeless after he was last seen drinking liquor on Saturday, October 26.

A report from the Santiago PNP narrated that a store owner, from whom the deceased bought his alcoholic drinks, sighted the man began drinking in the early hours of said day.

The woman had no idea what had happened next. At 9:30 p.m., it was then that the man was discovered dead at his residence in Purok 1, Barangay Ambalatungan.

The people who discovered the victim’s body reported the matter to the police, who proceeded to the location to investigate. In the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was often left alone. His relatives believed this is the reason to his frequent and excessive drinking.

With the findings, the police concluded excessive alcohol consumption led to the victim’s death, ruling out foul play in the incident.

According to the National Institute on Alcoholic Abuse and Alcoholism, too much drinking, especially if done with an empty stomach, increases the chances of having a stroke, which may eventually result in death.

With said health risks, the health professionals advise not to drink more than what your body can cope with. If unsure how much that is, it is best to drink moderately.
