Top 5 most wanted in Kalinga surrendered to Mayor Dagadag

Tanudan, Kalinga – A man with several cases and listed as top 5 most wanted person in Kalinga voluntarily surrendered to Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag this January 19, 2022, six years since his first offense was committed.


The surrender of the suspect is the outcome of the negotiation done by the local government unit of Tanudan headed by Mayor Dagadag and the continuous police-community relation and anti-criminality campaign of the different units of Kalinga police headed by Acting Kalinga Police Provincial Director, Police Colonel Peter Tagtag Jr.

Based on the report forwarded by Tanudan Chief of Police, Police Captain Manuel Sabado, the suspect identified as Jerry Pugao, 54, married and resident of Pangol, Tanudan is listed as the Top 5 most wanted individual in the Province of Kalinga.


Four cases have been filed against him and the DILG has also issued a P140,000 bounty on his head to any individual who could tell his whereabouts.

Suspect’s Offenses


According to a police report, Pugao’s first offense is murder, which was committed on October 23, 2016, around 4:30 in the afternoon.


The suspect is said to have shot a certain Alfredo Bitao, instantly killing him.


On July 10, 2019, the police served the suspect’s warrant of arrest for murder when he allegedly resisted and shot one of the operating personnel. Additionally, the operatives recovered a black bandolier with 6 magazines of M14 and a caliber .45 short firearm.

Due to the incident, a case of Direct Assault with Frustrated Homicide and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were also added to his first offense.


Meantime, on January 2, 2020, the suspect allegedly shot a CAFGU member around 11:30 PM in Sitio Baccong, Barangay Pangol, Tanudan. The suspect was said to have been drinking with the victim and while they were having a conversation, the suspect suddenly shot the victim four times, then fled.

A case of frustrated homicide was later filed against him for the incident.


Meanwhile, after the suspect surrendered to Mayor Dagadag this January 19, 2022, he was brought to Tanudan Municipal Police Station for temporary custody.
