Traffic enforcer in Abra working as trike driver at night possibly killed by passenger

Bangued, Abra – A 32-year-old traffic enforcer, who worked as a tricycle driver at night, was shot dead, possibly by his passenger, on Sunday, January 21.

According to the police, the victim even parked his vehicle in front of the municipal hall on that date while waiting for passengers.

However, while ferrying his passenger to the supposed destination, the shooting incident occurred, particularly at Sitio Kabildatan, Barangay Zone 7, Bangued.

The victim, Geraldine Peralta, sustained injuries in various parts of his body during the incident.

He later died while being treated at a healthcare facility in Abra’s capital town.

Regarding the motive of the crime, the police stated it is still unclear, but some are pointing out that it might be related to his job as a traffic enforcer.

Peralta was described as a strict enforcer, thus raising suspicion.

According to his wife’s statement, her husband did not have enemies while he was still alive.

The wife, along with the victim’s colleagues, is now seeking justice for the death of Peralta.

Meanwhile, Bangued’s local government has penned a resolution condemning the incident and urging authorities to conduct an in-depth investigation of the case.

Police are now reviewing CCTV footage in the area for possible identification of the suspect.
